Digital only files to be submitted (preferably!) as 8-bit JPEGs in sRGB colour space with a resolution of 1400 x 1050 pixels. Rotate portrait format images to upright. All images to be titled and to begin with a random two figure number of your choice. |
Levels |
All entries are judged at the same level. |
Entries |
Members may enter up to two images only. NB this has been changed from three images per member from 2010 onwards. |
Judging |
Members present judge the entries by a show of hands as they are anonymously presented to the club. Each member has up to two votes for each image. Both hands raised signifies the member assesses the intepretation and technical ability as a possible winner; one hand indicates a lesser merit. Members may not vote for their own work, and they may register a no hand vote.
The Competition Secretary notes the scores and applies a formula to equalise the points according to the number of members present for each Assignment night for the end of season prize giving. |
Awards |
The winner of each month's Assignment is awarded with a certificate at the end of season awards ceremony, and the member amassing the highest number of points over all the Assignments is awarded the Boghead Trophy, donated by John Orth. |
